It would swell and burst, as the surrounding water is hypotonic compared to the cell (that is, it has a higher concentration of water than the cell) and water would move into the cell via osmosis. However, there are organisms that have special vacuoles that prevent this from happening. Amoeba (a marine organism) is an example of this. When amoeba take up too much water, bubbles full of water expand, when they expand to a certain point, these water bubbles contract, pushing the excess water out of the cell, and back into the surrounding water.
